Our guiding cultural principle at Eternal

Only the paranoid survive

At Eternal, it is always Day 1

Every day, just like today, has the potential to redefine the rest of our lives as an organization.

Eternal started as Zomato, on 26th January 2008 (Deepinder’s 25th birthday), when one weekend, he went around town, collected all takeaway menus he could find, and put them up on a website, mostly in the spirit of service to his friends, and other people around him.

At the time, he had no intention of it turning into a business. He did not think there was any money to be made out of this.

Eternal is a result of tackling challenges day by day. Progress happened incrementally, and sometimes in leaps. That’s how we got here. And that’s how we move forward – one day at a time. One step after another

If you are an employee at Eternal, or are considering working at Eternal, please remember that…

This place is designed
to make you feel
uncomfortable...

Anything great takes decades to build. This place is about hard work and wild dreams. You always feel a bit uncomfortable. A bit on the edge of the knife. A bit inexperienced and unskilled for what you are doing right now. A little short on time. A little nervous. Afraid. And excited. Greatness thrives here.

"We" before me

We hate the word career at Eternal. If you are more focused on yourself, and your career, than your work and the impact you can make at Eternal, you are most likely to fail.

Being at Eternal is hard mode. Here, you, the individual doesn’t matter. We put the team first, and we commit to the team, and not the individual. We keep each other aligned on our shared mission, and are intellectually honest to each other. When we are not, we stick out like a sore thumb in front of our colleagues. Such people, either leave on their own, or are asked to leave.
